Frequently asked questions

What makes The Sat-Nav different to other course providers?

Sat-Nav Definition: a system that uses signals to determine a user's location and provide turn-by-turn directions to a destination. Your destination? Becoming a pharmacist.

That’s exactly what it is, turn-by-turn guidance.

Where course providers let you pay and have access to hundreds of videos for you to work through, the SAT-NAV is a journey through the year with you. Our tutors go through all the content together, with our unique study method, giving you the guidance you need up till the exam.

Our heavily thought-through roadmap gives you the step-by-step framework into how to go through the content, with specific highlights on what to focus on, when to do it, and most importantly, how to apply the knowledge into the exam setting.

You’ll be drowning in resources from many different providers. We are not here to drown you in even more, but instead, make those resources to actually work for you, so you can maximise the benefit you get from each and every revision session.

Passing is the main focus, but we also focus on making sure the training year is planned, organised, and confidence-boosting, all to make sure that you always feel in control.

With schedules and workflows that are adapted to your needs, we want to maintain a personal relationship with you, taking a step away from the typical teacher-student path.

Do you cover all the clinical content and calculations?

Yes. The Academy covers every BNF chapter, all types of calculations, and other GPhC exam areas (MEP/OTC). Each topic is broken down into digestible, exam-focused lessons so you can master both clinical understanding and confidently approach questions.

Do I get access to resources like notes, mock exams, and trackers?

Absolutely. Every trainee receives access to recorded live sessions, mock exams, topic notes, trackers, roadmaps, and much more, all designed to help you measure progress, spot weak areas, and improve quickly.

Do I have to follow a specific schedule or can I learn at my own pace?

Despite providing you with a structured roadmap and plan, you may decide to follow your own schedule, which is perfectly fine. You will be able to revisit sessions, rewatch recordings, and complete all activities in your own time.

Are the resources up to date?

Yes, every chapter and note is reviewed and updated to match the latest GPhC framework, BNF editions, and NICE guidelines. Pharmacy evolves quickly, and so do we.

With mentors who have just walked the journey themselves, they have all the updated content you need.

How will The Academy help me with the GPHC exam?

You’ll receive structured guidance on every chapter, step-by-step content mastery sessions, question-based learning, and regular mocks that mirror the GPhC format. Our system focuses on questions, not memorisation, helping you build lasting understanding and exam confidence.

Why are spaces limited on the programmes?

Spaces are intentionally capped to maintain the quality of mentorship and support.

The Academy prides itself in having smaller, relationship-focused groups, rather than having large cohorts that takes away from the beauty of mentorship.

Each trainee receives personalised feedback and progress tracking, which is only possible with smaller group sizes.

Once a programme reaches capacity, a waitlist opens for future spaces, whereby members of the email list will be informed when spaces open up.

How can PharmAscend Academy help with long-term career growth?

We will be hosting sessions on what to do as soon as the exam is finished to make navigating the post-exam period as easy as possible, including:

  • Getting you on the GPhC register as soon as possible
  • Different career options, within and away from the pharmacy industry
  • How to work as a pharmacist in the community setting
  • Guest speakers on how to work as a pharmacist in a variety of different settings

Can I try before I buy?

Yes. You’ll have access to taster materials to explore how the Academy works before committing to a full programme. It’s the best way to experience our teaching style and support firsthand.

Does the Academy guarantee I’ll pass the GPhC exam?

No one can ethically guarantee you a pass, but we guarantee structured support, accountability, and the same systems used by trainees who’ve achieved top marks (including Hamza’s 100% and 93% results).

If you put in the work, we’ll ensure you’re guided every step of the way, making sure you’re in the best possible position to face the exam.

What if I fail?

You’re never alone in that situation.

For Sat-Nav members: if you don’t pass, we’ll review your progress together, identify exactly where things went wrong, and create a personalised plan to rebuild your confidence. Our aim is to help you bounce back stronger, not start over blindly.

For Map members (coming soon):
benefit from our Access-Till-You-Pass policy, with discounts available on being upgraded to the Sat-Nav if the situation arises.

What should I know about refunds and copyright?
